Mission

How we work

Our focus, our NHS partnerships, and the principles that guide what we build.

Our focus

We design specifically for obstetric emergencies: extreme time pressure, high cognitive load, and the need for safety-critical data to be captured clearly and structured for governance, audit, and learning—not reconstructed from memory hours later.

Grounded in the NHS

ScribeMat is supported by the MSE Innovation Fellowship and is being tested with Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. We build with frontline midwives, obstetricians, and anaesthetists so ScribeMat fits real workflows—not the other way around.

What we believe

  • Documentation should support patient care in the moment, not compete with it.
  • Structured data should reduce inequality and strengthen oversight—not create new silos.
  • Technology should complement your EPR and existing systems, not replace clinical judgement.
